First Post in Kursk (Russia)

Sorry boys and girls for the late post after coming to Russia for a month over as I am kinda busy with stuffs and settling down here (bagi alasan saja).. 

Well yeah, was very excited to be here and experience a whole new (very the cold) environment. Autumn is already cold enough to make me shiver, then how will I survive through the long long icy winter??? I'll tell when winter arrives. 

And, it was sad to say goodbye to Adam (younger bro) that morning when parents and I send him to school that morning which was my last in Sandakan. When he got down the car, he said 'Bye. And see you next year'. I got those feeling like stinging at the throat when he said that. I really miss him till now though... 

Then, we went to Kota Kinabalu for transit to KL later in the afternoon. Since there was a 4 hours in between flight, went to visit my beloved grandma,aunts and uncles. Went yumcha with them.

After transit to KL, stayed there for 2 days in Concorde Inn which is less than 15 minutes drive from KLIA. Shopped a little at Midvalley and so-so...

Early early in the morning (like about 3 something), woke up to check out of the inn as I was supposed to reach KLIA to meet with Dato Rajoo at 5am. While checking out, saw a woman with her son were also checking out of the inn. Then she approach us and asked whether I am going to KSMU. She said her son (Jason) was going to KSMU too. So he's the first batchmate I talked to. In terms of batchmates meeting, I already met some of the Sabahans (Steph,Aren,Pet,Luther,etc) at the pre-departure briefing in Hyatt Hotel (Kota Kinabalu). Then went to KLIA and waited for Dato Rajoo. Later, saw a lonely girl wandering aimlessly around with her trolleyful of luggage. Guessed that she's going to KSMU too. (She=Angie)   Some more she left her laptop at the immigration part of KLIA and went all the way back to get it!

Then Dato Rajoo came, gave us our student card, air tickets and other stuffs. Everything done and went to counter to check-in.

Stopped by at Bangkok Airport for transit to Moscow. Nothing special there except that the checking were really strict (have to take off belt and shoes). During the almost 10 hours flight to Moscow was kinda boring. Watched movie and played some childish games (Mario,Zuma) and sleep. 

Arriving in Moscow was a whole new start of life in Russia! Got down the plane and went to to immigration hall filled with "guai lou's".

After all those 'mafan' procedures, we got on a bus for another 6-8 hours journey from Moscow to Kursk.

While on the way,each of us were given 2 McD Russian burgers! 

Well, it's my time to sleep. It's 2.16am now and I have class at 9am later. Further updates shall be posted as soon as I can. Paka!

United Breaks Guitar

There's this singer called Dave Carroll who was travelling to Nebraska from Chicago with his band on United Airlines. While on the plane waiting for the airline luggage handlers to load all the passengers' belongings, Dave heard the woman sitting behind him saying that the luggage handler was throwing a guitar to another but failed to grab a hold of it. And he knew it was his $3,500 Taylor Guitar.

Visit to Labuk Bay

This morning woke up at about 9am and when brushing my teeth, house phone rang and Jon was on the phone. 

Jon: Tung, flight lesson canceled oh, wanna go see monkeys?

Tung: Har... (Still blur blur because just woke up)

Jon: Come on la.. Me and Shiao Hong go oh.. Later after seeing monkeys, we go eat lunch then I send you both home cuz I got class at 2pm.

Tung: Okay lo. (Still brushing teeth)

Then Jon arrived and we started our journey. First stop at a bakery, Shiao Hong and I just woke up, so I haven't taken our breakfast yet (unlike Jon). Bought some bread and ate on the way to Labuk Bay. Hell, that Jon drive like asking him to prove himself worthy to join Nascar Racing! Even can speed when driving on rocky road and the one sitting at the rear seat (which is me) was the most affected one. And as a blessing, Jon ran into a lot of cow dungs and as we got down from the car, phe--------yew!!!!!

Found out that we were the first three guests to arrive today, paid RM15 each. Went inside and all we saw was vast forests but no monkeys. The guy told us that feeding time is 11.30am and the time was 10.00am back then. So Jon suggested we drive around to waste some time. 

I was watching TV. They switched on the TV to let us kill time. Big deal!

Later at 11.30am sharp, the animals started to appear with the guidance of the strange sound made by the guy responsible of taking care of the chalet. 

The first thing to appear was this horn bill. Followed by a lot of other wildlife..

A short-term good friend

Peng Han, at first when you changed into G1 I thought that you're not a friendly person. Those cool looks on the first few days were so discouraging for me to approach. But then as we slowly know each other, I found out that you make a very good pal. Soon, we always go for lunch break together along with Jeremy,Yi Xian and Han Hwa.

We would joke about everything we saw on the way to 'Market' and also what happened in class. You always have that 'lan c' way of yours to joke around. 

In college, we would do something 'fun' together all the time. Only those few will know what I meant. During lab classes, you would always take my labcoat instead of your own then give a reason by saying that "Both also labcoats la". I didn't mind at all and let you use it.

If I sit beside you during classes, you would disturb me by doing anything you can to annoy me (I know you're smarter than me also no need to kacau me la).  

Your "Nike" bottle is your favourite weapons to annoy us anytime anywhere. *squish and we will hit you with anything in the hand.

You always claim that you are diploma in piano which until now I still don't believe at all as you promised to prove to me but now might be impossible. 

You told me that your house has karaoke and promised to invite me over once you are home alone but now you're leaving. 

The time we went ice-skating at Sunway Pyramid, you told me that we will go out like that again some other days to shop or whatever but no chance now.

You even promised that we will watch late football matches together someday after the mid-term exam but no more.

You also never let me hold your cellphone as your said there are alot of P&C stuffs. All I know are those pictures of your pet dogs at the vet.

In the recent weeks, we would sing together in class. Those Westlife songs, Backstreet Boys' songs and some other old songs. There was once you were singing in Bio lab right beside me and then got called by Ms Param to answer a question, you were startled as it was so sudden!

Every tests you got higher marks than me. Do you remember my promise? I said that I will at least get higher marks than you in one paper and with the slogan "You wait, you'll see". But now, how can I fulfil my promise?

Do you still remember that all your Malaysian studies notes are still with me and you always told me to bring to college to return them to you but ended up forgetting about it. When will I able to return them to you?

Well, I have to end here now as I have class tomorrow which you used to go too. On Thursday, I was very confident that you will get JPA and stay for another week, so I was looking forward to see you on Monday as you were absent on Friday which I thought you were just being lazy. But now your decision is so sudden that I didn't even have the chance to say goodbye properly with you. The last word that I heard from you from in person is that on Thursday you said goodbye to me but I never expected that to be our last goodbye in person. Although we met only for a few months, our hang-out time was really fun. I was really sad that you're leaving and thanks for being a good friend of mine! We will miss you LOTS!!!  

It will years till we meet again or maybe forever... Farewell, Peng Han.
