Marker Spree

I bought a new blue whiteboard marker recently for my own use but today, it was put to great use! Khee Zhao took my marker pen and wrote all sort of stuffs..

Earth Hour

Dear family and friends, this Saturday (28th of March 2009) will be the annual grand event, The Earth Hour organized by "Earth Hour" along with "WWF" . On this particular day, millions of people around the globe will unite for one hour and switch off their lights to show that they care about our living planet.  62 countries including Malaysia (first-timer) have committed to participate in this memorable event. Even our Prime Minister, Dato' Seri Abdullah bin Ahmad Badawi has given his support towards the participation.  

The campaign hopes to gain support from more than one billion people in 1000 over cities, persuading individuals and governments to switch off their light in that one hour. The cities which are committed to this campaign includes Los Angeles, Las Vegas, London, Hong Kong, Sydney, Manila, Rome, Singapore, Istanbul, Mexico City, Dubai, Copenhagen and more. Even World Heritage Sites and The Seven Wonders of the World are taking part in this event. The Great Pyramids of Giza (Egypt) are going to switch off their lights, Acropolis (Athens) are casting their votes by switching off all lights, The Empire State Building (US), The Big Ben (London), Petronas Twin Tower are also joining the list of marvels in taking part The Earth Hour. 

The Year 2009 is a crucial year in terms of political decisions that will be made at global climate negotiations which will be held in December 2009. Earth Hour aims to represent the voice of the people around the world for meaningful policy on climate change as the outcome of the negotiations.

As a conclusion, I beg each and every of you to switch off your lights (electrical appliances, if possible) from 8.30pm to 9.30pm on the 28th of March 2009 (this coming Saturday, from the date this post was posted). With everyone switching off their light and electrical appliances, a large sum of money and electricity can be saved. One individual can make a little difference but all of us can make a huge difference!

So please cast your vote for Earth Hour 2009 and for the sake of the Earth.  Your light switch is your vote! 

p.s: For gamers, please switch off your computers (I mean shut down, not hibernate or sleep                    mode). For desktop computers, they use up twice the electricity of your refrigerator and PS3            uses up 3 times the electricity of your washing machine.

A Day Where Everything Is Not Right

First of all, the weather is soooo hot today that I wished I was born in Alaska!  Next is the LAN project, we decided to do it after school today. Put our things down at a Malay restaurant (disturbing people do business) and proceeded with doing the project. Done taking the first video and all of us stuffed in Ker Han's car to find parking. Unfortunately it was peak hour and cars were everything! How I wish I'm back in Sandakan where the amount of cars are like less than a quarter of the cars here. Jeremy passed his 2nd driving test and was so LC...  When we're back in college, Ker Han found out that he lost his bag and we searched everywhere to find it. End up founding at a wooden bench around Old Town. Aih, have to walk around under the blazing sun was like in hell!! Khee Zhao, Choo Teong and I was like retarded as the result from the hot sun. Housemates called and told me to go Post Office to pay Streamyx bill.. Have to walk under the sun again.. On the way back bought Sundae Cone from McD,melted on the way back.. T_T 

Came home. Nap... I bet Danny is doing the same thing on the floor above. Hehe..

F.F.F (Fast Food Frenzy)

Fu-Yoh!! Today's lunch McD again!! What to do, classmates insist of going there to eat. Now I'm really sick of fast food, just by thinking of them makes me sick! Well, the main reason that McD is so popular is because of the McValue Lunch which is so worthly or should I say money-stretching (only do this with the plastic RM5). With only RM6.25, you can get one of the 4 varieties of burgers plus a regular soda and a regular fries. By adding another RM1.20, you can get the soda and fries in large. We college students need to save money, so we'll buy things that are worth their prices (we're not cheap) and always looking out for free stuffs (eg:the Nescafe van giving out free drinks at college last Thursday which ALOT of students chiong). Today, there's a truck in front of Asia Cafe(AC) giving out free F&N canned drinks. A cute promotion girl handed me a can of drink and then took a photo with me (DAMN I'M LUCKY)! Jeremy who was beside me was so jealous,haha!!! (In your face, Jeremy!!)

Today is the day where the new timetable takes effect and damn the person who arranged it. Every Tuesday, we have to go back at 4pm instead of the usual 3pm. The first period was Biology and we did a practical assestment at the Bio Lab (and I know I did terribly). Hell that was one S-L-O-W hour~ After that is an hour break where most of us went to the library to study for the Physics test 2 hours later. Did some revision there but joked around as well (thanks to Siva). Math class was as dull as usual. We begged Ms Soh to give us some time to do Physics revision and she said "Sure, 2 minutes". Apparently, she gave us 20 minutes to do our revision. The clock shows 11.55am and it's time for our test! Moved to the next class but was occupied, so we wasted some time looking for an empty classroom. While some of us were standing outside the corridor, we saw Ms Banu walking into the college compound holding a fancy umbrella as it was raining. Told Ms Tan to postpone the test but she insist to do it today and fortunately, it's not as difficult as it sounded. Following was ESL class and had presentation from Khye Yuh's group and Chee Fong's group(where Jeremy's slide kena commented 'kaw-kaw'). Went to our LAN class reluctantly as we heard rumours that our LAN teacher was absent and sadly, he wasn't (all thanks to Jeremy again). Sat at the most behind part of LT5 with Eric, Choo Teong, Chee Fong, Jeremy, Ker Han and Khee Zhao. Laughed loudly as Choo Teong played the recording of Chee Keen's laugh which is notoriously funny! Played with funny ringtones while groups of students are showing their LAN videos. 

After LAN finished at 3pm, it was Chemistry which is the last class (poor old Mr Yap KL had to stay back with us). Before Mr Yap entered the class, everyone was fooling around inside and outside the classroom. Chinese insulting Indian and vice versa. And there were also some acrobatic shows from Vinci and Pooi Ling. Mr Yap, as usual, was 5 minutes late and took attendance immediately. 5 were supposed to be absent today [3 with permission (went to hospital) and 2 were without permission (Xinyu and Lynn=M.I.A)] but it turned out to be 6 absentees when we counted. Found out and told teacher that Jeremy ponteng class (actually he went to fail his driving test). 

Went home at four and took a "short" nap until 15 minutes to seven. 

Stressful Day

Aih.. Today is a day where nothing goes well. This morning supposed to wake up at 7am although Mondays' class starts at 9am. Planned to wake up early to do the Biology Human Awareness Essay stuffs. Assigned to look for 5 sources for our title, I only managed to look for 4 last night which caused me to sleep at 2am. That's why I was unable to wake up and Hong have to wake up earlier than usual because of me.        Sorry Hong!! >.<

Woke up at 8.35am and thought 'Hell! I'm gonna be late for class!'. Immediately showered, got dressed and ran to school. Luckily made it just in time and classmates still waiting outside of C22. Panicked as I didn't print out my Human Awareness Essay sources and to make matter worse, I haven't annotate them. ARGH!!! Going nuts early in the morning!!

First class is English. Today's the powerpoint presentation of the animals she assigned us in groups last week. My group did well,though. After that, she called us one by one to comment on our Detailed Outline and she said mine was good! At least something to cheer me up a bit. Ran to library immediately eventhough teacher is still in class to look for my final source for the Biology Human Awareness Essay but time didn't allow. When I found a book(which was irrelevant to my topic), I look at my watch and damn it was 10.07am. Ms Soh's so gonna be mad. Borrowed the book and rushed back to class. Luckily Ms Soh was in a good mood today (I think) and she didn't scold us. Listened attentively in class while Siva was doing his ESL stuffs beside. 

Next is Chemistry class where Mr Yap is always 1-5 minutes late. As funny as usual, he's taught us 'Esters' today with jokes included. His class never fails to entertain students. Ajak him to go to McDonald for lunch but he said 'Last week already ate twice, no thanks'. Then the tense moment came, Jeremy and I ran to the library(again) to do our Biology stuffs. He managed to complete his but NOT ME!! When it was 12.35pm, Han Hwa and Jeremy said they're terribly hungry( so am I) and we went to McD. Knowing that we don't have sufficient time to eat, we was like ate everything in less than 10 minutes and have to run back to school or else our Bio teacher will 'parang' us... 

Did practical work today in the Bio lab and passed up my sources along with the annotation(which I did 'cincaily' cause no time). Nagged the whole class especially the boys AGAIN for not doing the detailed outline eventhough she was the one who said it was not compulsory. Then, further nagged us for not bringing our pink Human Awareness manila file WHICH SHE NEVER TOLD US TO BRING! 

When time was up, moved to Lecture Theater 5(LT5) for the Physics talk from a professor who came all the way from University of Canterbury. When we reached LT5, we found out that the talk is supposed to be somewhere else and no one knows where it is. Khye Yuh, Siva and I went to the toilet and got separated from the group and we had to contact KJ to ask for the location. The talk was quite interesting(friendly professor Richard Duke). 

Went to 7-Eleven to buy an ice cream to cool down and met Khee Zhao and Chee Fong in front of the handphone shop. Chee Fong wanted to go KFC but Khee Zhao unable to go, so I terpaksa accompany Chee Fong to go as he said that he got vouchers for free meal (Actually not 'terpaksa' at all). Wow.. 2 fast food meal in one day, I'm going crazy if this goes on. Bought some fruits and went home to start writing this post which costed me an hour of napping time. T_T  Better take my nap now~ Zzz....
